is just over 4000 acres with 8 islands, Sunapee State Park, 7 sandy beaches and 6 boat ramps. Lake Sunapee is a year round destination with easy access to skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, theater, concert venues. There are major airports in Manchester and Boston. What you will not find around the lake are fast food chain restaurants and big box stores.

Sunapee NH

Quaint Sunapee Harbor

is home to the MV Kearsarge, a tour and dinner boat exploring the lake daily. The harbor is a tight knit community of shops, restaurants and culture from artist studio’s to concerts on the common. The marina’s are located in Sunapee Harbor and Georges Mills. In addition to motor boating, Sunapee is home to the Lake Sunapee Cruising Fleet and Lake Sunapee Sailboat Racing. Newbury NH

is located on the western and southern shores of Lake Sunapee. Newbury is where the action is on the lake. Mount Sunapee Ski Area, Mount Sunapee State Park and the Village of Blodgett’s Landing are all located in town. Newbury has a population of over 2000. If you are looking for lodging or a dining out I would direct you to Newbury. In the summer, Mt Sunapee is home to one of the best crafts fairs in the state. The League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair is one of the finest, most prestigious craft events in the country today. This annual event features both traditional and contemporary fine craft work by juried members of the League of New Hampshire. New London NH

is located on the Gold Coast of Lake Sunapee. Expect sandy shorelines and sunsets. With a population of just over 4300, the town is home to Colby Sawyer College, a vibrant downtown, a hospital and just on the outskirts of town you have Pleasant Lake New London. In the winter months you have access to 2 ski areas, Mount Sunapee and the recently expanded Ragged Mountain Ski and Golf Resort. Picture a quaint New England town with all the attributes you would expect to find. New London is it. Restaurants, art galleries, antiques, shopping, groceries, hiking, biking, golf, snowmobiling, theater and college facilities residents can use. Fishing

-Fish in the lake include Lake Trout and Landlocked Salmon both requiring deep pure cold water. Warm water fish in Lake Sunapee are Small Mouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Yellow Perch, and Brown Bullhead Catfish. Watch out for the Loon’s while you are casting for a trophy salmon.

Beaches

– Lake Sunapee has seven sandy beaches; Sunapee Harbor, Dewey Beach, Georges Mills, Newbury Harbor, Soo-Nipi, Granliden, and the Sunapee State Beach. Sunapee State Park is open 9:30 am to 7:30 pm, a fee is required.

Sailing

– the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club is host to 23 Starboats; one of the largest inland fleets. The Sunapee Starboat Regatta is one of the largest unsanctioned sailing events in the USA.

Skiing

– Mount Sunapee has ten lifts, including three quad chairs (one high-speed), two triple chairs, one double chair, and four surface lifts. Sunapee has 65 trails and slopes covering 230 skiable acres; 17 novice trails, 32 intermediate trails, and 16 expert trails. In addition, Ragged Mountain and the Dartmouth Skiway are just a short drive.
