The Squam Lake lakefront towns include Ashland – Holderness – Center Harbor – Sandwich – Moultonborough
If you are looking for an unspoiled environment that seems to be locked into the 1920′s, Squam Lake is your destination. The shoreline has open space, and many of the 30 islands are open for you to explore. The lake has two sections: Big Squam Lake at the northern end and Little Squam to the south. Off the lake, you will find miles of hiking and biking trails. Major ski areas are less than 30 minutes away, along with some of the best golf courses in New Hampshire. In the evenings you will find some excellent restaurants, along with theatre productions running throughout the summer months. Don’t forget to bring the kids to the Squam Lake Science Center in Holderness!
Squam is the second largest lake in NH, covering 6,764 acres.
