Situated on the North by Center Harbor, West and Northwest by New Hampton and West, South West and East by Meredith. It is 928 acres and is 2.6 miles long and 1.0 mile wide. Chapman island is the one island on Waukewan and is on the northern side of the lake. Waukewan flows into Lake Winnipesaukee via a waterfall right next to Mill Falls Marketplace in Meredith. You can sit and have lunch at the Waterfall Café or dinner at Giuseppes. Both are located in the Marketplace. Standing on the bridge in Mill Falls is a favorite photo opportunity for tourists year round. The fishing is great in Waukewan, the lake has a plentiful supply of bass, rainbow trout, brown bullhead and Cusk. The rules changed in 2009, so Waukewan is one of the few lakes around that still allows fishing for Cusk.
