Meredith is located in Belknap County and as of the 2010 census has 6,241 residents. However, because it is a resort area, the population soars in the summer. Meredith is located on Lake Winnipesaukee and there are several islands located in Meredith on the big lake. There are several smaller lakes that also claim Meredith as their home. Among them are, Lake Waukewan, which is the source of the town water supply, Lake Wicwas, Winona Lake, and Lake Winnisquam which is the 4th largest lake in the state.

 

Routes 3 and Route 25 cross at an intersection in the center of Meredith at the head of the Lake. In this area, there are 4 Inns and several restaurants.
